Essential Oils Caution

  • Since essential oils are highly concentrated, dilute before applying to skin. 
  • If a rash appears, discontinue use immediately.
  • Keep essential oils away from the eye area.
  • If essential oils come into contact with the eyes, flush with cold water and seek medical advice if necessary.
  • Essential oils should never be taken internally without the supervision of a professional practitioner.
  • Keep essential oils out of the reach of children.
  • If a child swallows an essential oil, immediately seek medical advice.
  • Children under the age of 2 should not be rubbed with essential oils unless based on the advice of a professional practitioner.  
  • Those who are pregnant, have a skin condition, epilepsy, asthma, or are taking medication, seek the advice of a professional aromatherapist before using essential oils.
  • Citrus essential oils are photosensitive.  Avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds for 3-4 hours after topical use.
  • Some essential oils are flammable and require special care.
  • Store essential oils away from direct heat and light.
  • Given that essential oils can damage wood, plastic, or painted surfaces, be careful where you place the bottles. 
  • Use essential oils within one year.
